I am beyond honored and excited to serve as principal of amazing Zwink Elementary! After graduating from Texas A&M University, I began my career in education in Houston ISD where I taught fourth and fifth grades. I had the pleasure of joining Klein ISD at Roth Elementary in 2008 where I served as a fourth grade teacher and then as the Reading Specialist. I most recently have had the privilege of serving at Zwink as an Assistant Principal before having the honor to lead Zwink as the principal. My experience in education also includes a unique opportunity I was awarded through Education Pioneers’ Graduate Fellowship program in 2010. I was selected to participate in the fellowship as one of three hundred fellows selected out of over three thousand applicants nationwide. Through this opportunity, I was able to work directly under Houston ISD’s Chief Officer for Major Projects on the team spearheading the district’s Apollo 20 initiative. Aside from my work as an educator, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Austin, our two wonderful children, Kiely and Ty, and our dog, Gertie. I love running, spending time outdoors with my family, and watching Aggie football. I am dedicated to serving the students, parents, and faculty of Zwink Elementary in every way possible!

I am absolutely delighted to be a part of the Zwink team as the assistant principal! I have served in many districts across the country, and as a graduate of Klein ISD, I am pleased to now be a part of this amazing district. I began my teaching career as a seventh and eighth grade teacher in Spring Branch ISD after earning my degree at Sam Houston State, and continued to teach in Georgia and New York. I then served as the librarian at Blackshear elementary for the four years, working with teachers on research and literacy to gain the Professional Support Staff Member of the Year and a grant from the Klein Education Foundation to use video conferencing as a research method for elementary students. Additionally, I worked three summers on the Reading Express, bringing Klein students an opportunity to read over the summer. When I am not teaming up with teachers to help students achieve greatness, I am playing slow-pitch softball or curled up with an excellent book of my own to read. I enjoy watching movies and playing with my two rescue dogs, River and Chewy. I look forward to another year of being a part of the Zwink leadership team.

I am excited to return to the Zwink team as one of the assistant principals. I grew up in Klein ISD and attended Klein schools throughout my education. I am happy to now be a part of what makes this district so successful. I started my teaching career at Zwink Elementary in first grade. After several years in first grade, I then moved onto becoming an assistant principal at another elementary school in Klein. It gives me great pleasure to be back "home" at Zwink. I have been honored to receive a Klein Education Grant, Rookie of the Year, and serve on the High Quality Teaching team. I enjoy working out and being outdoors. I have two dogs that keep me busy. Molly is 9 years old and a white Labrador retriever. Makenzie is not quite a year old, and she is a black lab mix that I adopted last year. I can't wait to help Zwink continue to achieve our "High Expectations, and High Support" for every child, every day.

I am so honored and excited to become part of the Zwink Zebra team! Upon graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, I began my teaching career in Galena Park ISD where I had the pleasure of teaching 3rd and 4th grade. During my time there, I was honored to be recognized as the Rookie Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year at my school. In 2014, I was thrilled to join Klein ISD as a 3rd grade teacher at Benignus Elementary, and now I am honored to join Zwink as the School Counselor! My husband and I have been married for 5 years and we enjoy spending time with our 2 dogs, traveling the lake on our boat, and watching Longhorn football! I am looking forward to a great year!
